FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything about pricing, what Itchy actually does, sharing a trip, and how your trip data works.

The Basics
What is Globe Skimmer?

Globe Skimmer is a trip planning app that keeps everything for a trip — flights, hotels, an itinerary, a budget, a packing list, and photos — in one place. Itchy, the built-in assistant, searches for what you ask and writes the result straight into your itinerary, so you're not copying information between apps by hand.

How much does it cost?

$19.99, once. There's no subscription and no recurring charge — every feature, current and future, is included in that one-time purchase.

Does Globe Skimmer book flights and hotels for me?

No. Globe Skimmer searches and organizes travel — it doesn't complete bookings. When Itchy finds a flight or hotel that matches what you asked for, it writes the details into your itinerary; you still complete the booking directly with the airline, hotel, or booking site.

Itchy
Who — or what — is Itchy?

Itchy is Globe Skimmer's built-in trip assistant. Ask it in plain language for a hotel, a restaurant, or a packing suggestion, and it searches live data and writes the result into your itinerary. Itchy is grounded in your own saved trip details, so it isn't inventing plans out of nowhere — it works from the dates, places, and preferences you've actually added to the trip.

Can Itchy read documents, like a boarding pass or a confirmation email?

Yes. You can attach a PDF or image directly in the chat with Itchy, and it will read the document and use it as context for your trip.

What can Itchy actually change in my trip?

Itchy can add an entry to your itinerary, update or remove one, look up places near where you'll be, and drop a place onto your trip map. It works from the trip you have open, so “move dinner to Friday” or “find a coffee shop near the hotel” changes the real trip — you're not copying an answer out of a chat window.

Using Globe Skimmer
Can I plan more than one trip?

Yes — Globe Skimmer supports unlimited trips. Switch between them from the Explore tab, and each trip keeps its own itinerary, budget, packing list, and photos separate from the others.

What happens to my trip after it's over?

Nothing gets deleted. Moments automatically turns the photos from that trip into an album, and you can share the trip with anyone — they can follow along and view it whether or not they already have Globe Skimmer.

Will Globe Skimmer remind me about my trip?

Yes, if you turn notifications on in Profile. Globe Skimmer sends a countdown as departure approaches, a nudge when the day's plans are worth a look, and an alert when someone suggests a place on a trip you're sharing. It's a daily check, not a constant stream — and you can switch it off at any time.

Where do I keep boarding passes and travel documents?

The Documents tab holds them — upload a passport scan, a boarding pass, an insurance policy, or a reservation PDF, and it stays attached to the trip with a tap-to-preview view. Documents are visible only to you, not to anyone following the trip.

Can I export my itinerary or print it?

Yes. Export your trip to PDF from Profile and you'll get the full itinerary as a file you can print, email, or hand to someone who isn't using the app.

Is there a packing list?

Yes, and it handles more than one person. Add each traveler, sort items into categories, and check things off as you go — each person gets their own progress so you can see who's actually packed.

Does Globe Skimmer work offline?

Globe Skimmer is a single-file progressive web app, which keeps it fast and lightweight even as your trip grows. Searching for new places requires a connection, but your saved itinerary, map pins, and packing list are viewable once they've loaded.

Does Globe Skimmer check visa requirements?

Yes. Set your passport nationality once, and every trip gets checked automatically — whether you need a visa, an eVisa, or nothing at all is flagged right on the trip, based on your destination.

What platforms does Globe Skimmer support?

Globe Skimmer runs in your mobile or desktop browser and can be installed to your home screen like a native app (Add to Home Screen on iOS, or the install prompt on Android/desktop Chrome) — no app store required.

Sharing & Collaboration
Can I share a trip with the people I'm traveling with?

Yes. Share a trip and friends can follow it — the whole itinerary shows up in their own Globe Skimmer, and they can suggest places you approve with a tap. Approved suggestions land on your itinerary tagged with who suggested them.

Does someone need to pay to view a trip I've shared?

No. A share link gives them guest access to that one trip — they can browse the itinerary and suggest places without buying anything. Guest access is tied to the trip you shared, not to the app itself; planning their own trips with the Planner, Maps, Moments, and Itchy is part of the $19.99 one-time purchase.

Can the people following my trip change it?

No — every change still goes through you. Followers see the itinerary, budget, packing list, and photos, and they can suggest a place. Suggestions land in a review inbox, and nothing reaches your itinerary until you approve it. Your travel documents and your Itchy conversations stay private to you.

Can we split costs on a shared trip?

Yes. Add your Venmo or Cash App handle and the trip's budget shows each traveler's share with a prefilled payment link, so settling up is a couple of taps.

Budget & Money
Can I track what the trip is costing?

Yes. Set a trip budget and log expenses by category, and the Budget tab shows what you've spent against what you planned, broken down by category and by traveler. Prices you save from the Planner carry across, so a flight or a hotel you added is already counted.

Does it handle foreign currency?

There's a built-in converter with live rates, so you can check a price in the local currency without leaving the trip.

Account & Data
Is my trip data private?

Your trips are tied to your account and aren't visible to other users. Read our full Privacy Policy for details on what's collected and how it's used.

Can I add two-factor authentication?

Yes. Turn on two-factor from your Profile and pair it with any authenticator app for a standard six-digit code at sign-in.

Can I get a refund?
